Current Status of The Amazing Ziggy!

April 03, 2004

...stump is looking good. Still a little more trimming to do on the bone... he is able to reach it to wash it but he rarely does.
Sometimes though, he is starting to wash it a little now. Maybe it was too sensitive before.

I didn't realize Ziggy was sticking his tongue out until I saw the pic!

One of his favorite things is "brushing on the bed!."
He will come running and jump onto the bed if you ask him if he wants some brushing on the bed!
He knows brush and comb.

Close-up of how the stump is looking today... part of scab is already coming off.
Fur is starting to grow out from the new skin.. I think it's looking pretty good.
A tiny bit of trimming to do on the bone yet to get it as close to the stump as I can, and then I will be done.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Ziggy played with his rabbits foot tied on string today; he ran all around to catch it & had a lot of energy.
After a long break, he is back in his tent! It was even taken down for a few weeks but then it was put back
up but he never went in it for many weeks until today. He took a whiff of his catnip snake and then settled
down to go to sleep in his tent, finally!

In the Shadows

This picture came out neat, I thought!

Bird-watching!

He can reach his stump to wash it! He doesn't do it very often...

still a small scab to heal on the stump yet... also since one scab already came off,
the bone is exposed more now.. and I think I will try to trim a tiny bit more sometime.
Keep forgetting to snap another close-up of it, but more to come!

P.S. He's doing good! He likes being on his windowledge a lot now since it is warmer out and the screen is in the window! He has been going outside once or twice a day for only about 10 or 15 minutes each! For some reason, that is enough for him and he comes inside after that long.
Maybe this summer I will get a break and he won't want to stay out for hours at a time!

There was once though, when I was pulling some weeds around my strawberry plants, and I saw him sneaking off in the other direction, getting away from me, out of sight. But when I stopped pulling weeds and moved toward him to keep an eye on him, he looked at me and turned back and ran to the house! So, I think he likes being independent like he used to be but that's not going to happen again and he should be used to it by now!

It is nice not having his hook because it would always get dirty on the ground outside and sometimes would get caught on vines as he walked through the woods (last summer)... He will have a better summer this year.
