That Ziggy made it to 2004 and is still doing GREAT is like a miracle!! We are so happy and lucky to still have him here with us! He has his own bed where he has been spending most of his time lately. It is a real bed, a single daybed that we call "Ziggy's Bed" and his own little pillow too!

NOTES: Today when I changed his bandage, I saw for the first time his leg bone! In a very small section where the dead leg meets up with the good part of the leg, the dead skin all dried, brittle and crumbling away has exposed a very small part of the bone underneath! I will take some pics next time I change the bandage.

When I use the computer and Ziggy wants some attention,
he stretches up to my chair and boxes me with his "hook"
until I pick him up and give him my undivided attention
and then he is happy!

Earlier this month I mentioned that when I changed his bandage I could see his white "leg bone" in one small spot... However, I can no longer see it, I'm not sure why, it appears to have got covered by skin or something.. not sure really! I didn't expect that to happen or I would have taken the picture that day.. I'll continue to look for it next times I change the bandage.. Sometimes I only change his bandage every 4 or 5 days since he's not going outside much and doesn't get it dirty often. It also never sticks to his leg anymore. He still uses this arm, mostly to punch me to try to wake me up in the morning! Sometimes for balance, sometimes to play. A few times it appears to be in his way though and then I wonder how he'd be doing today IF he had had the amputation and lived through it... He's doing GREAT though.... Every day he insists on playing (pokes me with his hook until I play with him) since he can't stay long outside because its so cold. He runs in after about 10 minutes on the days that we go outside because its around freezing... so instead, he plays inside with his crinkley bug and his new toy, a crinkley snake (no pics yet)

We made Ziggy a "tent" on the daybed; he loves it so much he won't come out..

he was pretending he was sleeping when I was taking his picture, but I saw his eye was really open
...still living in the tent...

He just loves his tent!!
