Lately, the gauze pads I have been using have been sticking to Ziggy's leg, and I have a hard time getting them off. I need to moisten it all first with antiseptic wash, but even then its not easy to peel off. There is a section of dead skin which has peeled off when it stuck to the bandage, which can be seen in the picture below. It looks kind of gross! But does not seem to bother him anymore than it used to. Since this happened, I am using a new kind of gauze pad that is triple layer, and is non-stick. This kind is much better!

Ziggy has been off the heparin for over 2 weeks now. He is doing great- or even better- than before! He still is on antibiotic (and special vitamins) twice a day, mixed in a little food. He still goes outside every day. Inside, he has a new special place where he likes to sleep during the day - in his basket down in the living room! He has been sleeping there every day this month.
